Nour Abdulmajid

Nour is an architectural designer with a growing focus on historic preservation and the stories buildings carry over time. Her interest in preservation began long before she understood it as a formal field. Growing up between Egypt and Saudi Arabia, she was surrounded by architecture that reflected history, tradition, and lived experience, shaping her understanding of buildings as more than physical structures.

She is currently an architectural intern at John G. Waite Associates, where she works on historic preservation projects and is learning how to balance technical rigor with respect for history, craftsmanship, and the communities buildings serve. She is especially drawn to studying existing buildings—how they were built, how they have evolved, and how they can be carefully carried forward. Through her work, she hopes to contribute to preservation efforts that protect overlooked histories and treat architecture as a living record of identity, culture, and shared memory.
